About the Rhipsalis succulent
Rhipsalis is a unique succulent native to the rainforests of South America, Africa and several islands in the Indian Ocean. Unlike most cacti, Rhipsalis grows as an epiphyte on the shady branches of trees. This means it needs less sunlight and thrives in slightly higher humidity. Its long, thin stems trail playfully downwards, forming a graceful hanging plant. In the right conditions, Rhipsalis can produce small white or yellowish flowers, followed by berry-like fruits.
Easy houseplants
Rhipsalis is one of the easiest succulents to care for. It stores water in its stems and therefore only needs moderate watering. Unlike desert cacti, Rhipsalis likes a slightly more humid environment, but it can also cope well with periods of drought. Place it in a spot with indirect light and it will stay healthy and beautiful for years. This plant is ideal for hanging pots, offices, living rooms and as a gift for plant lovers.
