The trap attracts mosquitoes and other insects with the help of six LEDs emitting in the UV spectrum . As soon as the insects get close, they are sucked into the trap using a small fan, where they are then immediately killed by an electric current.

For easier cleaning, the catcher has a pull-out drawer at the bottom for dead insects, which only needs to be pulled out and emptied once in a while. At the moment when the socket is extended, for safety reasons, the fan and the electric grid are automatically switched off.
